Natural Ingredients for Hair Loss
Support your hair's growth topically with these 6 natural ingredients
When choosing topical products to support hair loss, there's a lot on the market. YAY! As a Certified Hair Practitioner through the International Association of Trichologists, I've read a lot of research papers on treatment options available ranging from supplements to topical serums to transplants. There are varying levels of research and effectiveness for all options, and when dealing with hair loss, each individual responds different, depending on how long they've been experiencing hair loss, where the hair loss is presenting itself, and the cause.
Today we're focusing on a trend many are leaning towards...natural alternatives for hair products. Because who doesn't want less toxic options!
Here are 6 ingredients you may not know can help nourish and strengthen your hair follicle and keep your hair growing for a longer time and falling out for less time (and yes there's scientific verbiage for all that, but this makes more sense).
Tips when experiencing unexpected hair loss
Always speak to a professional who can help determine the underlying cause of the hair loss.
Don't supplement just for the sake of supplementing. This can be dangerous to your health and if you're not deficient in something, taking more of it is not going to make a difference in hair growth.
Be patient when starting treatments. It typically takes 3 months for hair loss to slow down and as much as 6 months to start to see hair growth. And some areas respond faster than others depending how long the hair loss has been present.
Remember prevention is key. Even slowing down your hair shedding is progress.
Take photos! We see ourselves daily. It helps to be able to compare progress.
